The Fozen Autumn is an Italian Darkwave band formed in 1993. They bring a fun sound in the darkwave genre. Darkwave for those of you who are unfamiliar is somewhat a mix of the New Wave Pop sound and Post-Punk. It offers a unique sound.
The band is currently comprised of Diego Merletto on vocals and synthesizers, and Arianna who is also on vocals and synthesizers. I didn’t do a super deep dive, but I don’t think they have any other standing memebers of the band.
The vocals have a haunting quality to them that drawers the listener in, and I think it’s my favorite part of this kind of music. The band currently has seven studio albums. They may be working on more tracks.
Unless you’re in the goth scene, darkwave doesn’t get the attention it deserves and it’s probably a bit misunderstood from an outside perspective. I do think The Frozen Autumn is a decent introduction to the genre.
