It has been a couple years since Valley Scare has left the haunt scene, but now, 2024 it returns! If you’re in Minnesota this is big news for the haunt community. Valley Scare was one of the largest haunts in the State. It boggles my mind that they ended the event back in 2022. I’m not sure if they weren’t getting enough revenue from it or what, but it was popular.
If you’re not from Minnesota, Valley Scare ranks up their in popularity with The Dead End Hayride, and Scream Town. There are many and I mean many haunts in Minnesota, but those are some of the most popular. I might make a post sometime highlighting others in the State actually. But back to my main point, Valley Scare was a staple in the haunt scene.
When Valley Fair ended Valley Scare they kept a family friendly option avaliable durring the daytime. Which, I believe they will continue to do for now. I’ve only been to Valley Scare once myself, a few years back with a couple friends. We had a great time! One of the haunters even snuck up behind me and screamed in my ear! Being the thing that I am, I just smiled and waved. Haha! Haunters love when you do that… This was before I became one myself.
It’ll be interesting to see how the reopening of this attraction goes in the haunt community. I’ve already heard some buzz from a couple haunt enthusiasts. I’m predicting that this will come back in a huge way. It might pull away from some local haunts this year actually. Which if it does, I personally would find sad, but I am happy there is some buzz about the haunt community getting positive attention.
The grounds of Valley Fair are pretty large, so they have plenty of space to work with. I assume some of the veteran actors will return to their old haunt. Some new haunters will probably join as well. I’m not familiar with Valley Scare’s hiring procedure for their actors, but it will be interesting the mix of new and old that go to work their.
No matter what you think about the return of Valley Scare, we in the haunt community in Minnesota are in for a very interseting season with this news.
